ICU Infections: How Do We Get to Zero? - Morning Session

There is no fee for this event.

Infection frequency has decreased in Connecticut but in many parts of the country, ICUs have no infections.  Learn from best practices and new science as we tackle those remaining infections.

This morning session will focus on clinical interventions and feature Kathleen Vollman, MSN, RN, CCNS, FCCM, FAAN, a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, Educator and Consultant, Advancing Nursing, based in Michigan, and William S. Miles, MD, FACS, FCCM, FAPWCA, Director of Surgical Critical Care Outreach and Co-Medical Director of Neurosurgical ICU, University of North Carolina School of Medicine.  Attendees will be clinical ICU nurses, intensivists and other physicians, advanced practice providers, infection preventionists, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists, all of whom play a role in keeping ICUs infection-free.

The afternoon session will focus on environmental services science and best practices to keep the environment microbe-free.  This session is provided for infection preventionists, clinical ICU nurses, facilities staff, and environmental services workers.
