Business leaders and policymakers from across Connecticut will gather at The Society Room of Hartford on Tuesday, June 24, for the Hartford Business Journal’s “Politics & Policy: 2025 Legislative Session Recap.”
The event, headlined by Gov. Ned Lamont, will provide an overview of the latest state and federal policy shifts and their implications for the business community.
The event kicks off with a fireside chat with Lamont from 8:20 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Then, House Speaker Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) and Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding (R-Brookfield) will lead a bipartisan legislative leaders discussion from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
After that, a roundtable focusing on state issues will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., moderated by Chris DiPentima, president and CEO of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association.
The panelists are:
- Fred Carstensen: Professor of Finance and Economics at UConn School of Business; Director, Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis
- Doug Horton: V.P. of Distribution Rates and Regulatory Requirements, Eversource
- Jennifer Jackson: CEO, Connecticut Hospital Association
- Michael Johnson: President, Accounts & Services/Lobbyist, Sullivan & LeShane
- Dan O’Keefe: Commissioner, State Department of Economic and Community Development
A break will follow from 10:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Next, there will be a federal issues roundtable from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. moderated by Brian Shactman of WTIC-1080.
The panelists are:

- Andrew Lattimer: Tax Principal, CLA
- Ebone Lauren Luciano: Senior Counsel, Harris Beach Murtha
