I am honored to nominate Staci Peete, the Director of Community Engagement at Norwalk Hospital, for the Healthcare Hero Award. Staci’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of our community and her exceptional contributions make her a true healthcare hero.

Dedication to Community Care: Since 2014, Staci has been overseeing the Norwalk Community Care Team (CCT) Program. Her compassionate nature and effective communication style allow her to facilitate this important and sensitive work seamlessly. Under her leadership, the Greater Norwalk CCT has made a significant impact, serving 550 individuals, housing 184, and reducing ED utilization by CCT clients by an impressive 77% through FY24. These outcomes are not just statistics; they are lives changed and saved.

Innovative Programs and Initiatives: Staci’s visionary approach led to the creation of several essential programs. In 2018, she played a pivotal role in spinning off a Senior CCT program for individuals aged 65 and older, as well as a Frequent Visitor Program for high-utilizer patients with complex medical conditions. Her efforts didn’t stop there; in 2022, she collaborated with the psychiatry department to implement a community psychiatric resident outreach program, providing free psychiatric assessments to approximately 25 individuals per year.

Impact on the Community: Staci’s strong desire to improve the lives of others, coupled with her innovative thinking, has brought this mission to life. She has built a robust trust relationship between the hospital and community providers and partners, fostering a supportive environment for all. Her work has inspired many and brought hope to those in need.

Staci’s dedication, compassion, and innovative approach are why we believe she is a healthcare hero every day. Her contributions to the community have left an indelible mark, and we are grateful for her tireless efforts.
