Since 2015, Kevin has been overseeing the Danbury Community Care Team (CCT) Program. Under his leadership, the Greater Danbury CCT has served 611 people, housed 162 individuals, and achieved a 64% decrease in emergency department utilization by CCT clients through FY24. His commitment to addressing complex medical conditions is further exemplified by his oversight of the Frequent Visitor Program, implemented in 2023, which supports high-utilizer patients with complex medical conditions.

In 2024, Kevin worked with the department of psychiatry to implement a community psychiatric resident outreach program, providing free psychiatric assessments in the community for approximately 20 persons per year. That same year, Danbury Hospital was awarded the five-year SAMHSA Treating Individuals Experiencing Homelessness (TIEH) grant, which Kevin oversees, demonstrating his dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable populations.

Kevin’s innovative approach and tireless efforts have not only improved patient outcomes but have also inspired his colleagues to strive for excellence. Following the success of the Danbury Hospital program, Kevin launched a similar program at one of Nuvance’s NY hospitals in 2021, expanding his positive impact to a broader community.

One of the most admirable qualities of Kevin is his genuine compassion for patients. He goes above and beyond to ensure that every patient feels heard, respected, and cared for. Whether it’s spending extra time to comfort a worried family member or advocating for patients’ needs, Kevin embodies the true spirit of empathy and kindness.

Kevin’s dedication to advancing healthcare is further evidenced by his active involvement in research and community outreach programs. He continuously seeks opportunities to expand his expertise and improve healthcare delivery, benefiting both patients and the broader community.

Kevin exemplifies the qualities of a Healthcare Hero through his unwavering dedication and compassionate care, and his tireless efforts and selflessness make him truly deserving of this recognition.
