In 2024, Eric was one of Stamford Health’s DAISY award winners. Eric was nominated by a patient’s wife who recognized him for going above and beyond to provide compassionate, person-centered care to her husband.

She said in her nomination, “Eric was kind enough, and without hesitation, gave my husband a beautiful facial shave. We had not been able to do so and were expecting a visit from his brother. Eric is a very sweet and compassionate nurse who took the time in the last few hours of his shift to help my husband look and feel amazing. I have to tell you; my husband is in the late stage of dementia at only 66 years old. The disease has advanced very rapidly, which has been devastating to everyone who knows and loves him. We greatly appreciate the gentle demeanor and respect that Eric had for my husband today. Eric has a gift that his patients are fortunate to experience. God bless you Eric and please stay well and strong. The world needs more like you!”
