I am delighted to nominate Candy Osborn, RN, for the Healthcare Hero award, recognizing her exceptional dedication and commitment to Sharon Hospital over the past 25 years. Candy’s unwavering dedication to her patients, the community, and her colleagues truly sets her apart as a remarkable healthcare professional.
Candy’s compassion and empathy shine through in every aspect of her work, with a particular focus on women’s health. Her exceptional communication skills are instrumental in providing support to women during critical health events, from daily care to life-changing moments such as childbirth and difficult diagnoses. In the past year, we have encountered several unique cases, and Candy has consistently made herself available to offer her expertise and support to both patients and the women’s services staff, ultimately enhancing patient experiences and outcomes.
One of Candy’s standout contributions is her role in educating the Emergency Department staff on maternal health emergencies. Her dedication extends beyond her assigned duties, as she tirelessly administers the diaper giveaway program, connecting Sharon Hospital patients with essential supplies. She is a familiar face at educational tables in local senior centers, always ready to share her knowledge and support the community.
Candy’s commitment to the hospital’s community benefit projects is truly inspiring. She is often the first to volunteer for key initiatives, such as the vaccination program, and consistently offers her assistance across various disciplines. Her positive approach and solution-oriented mindset make her an invaluable asset to Sharon Hospital and the community it serves.
